Drops of Water

 

I have always been fascinated by water drop photography and how it is done so I gave it a try. I made a crude homemade set up for this. My son Ryan wanted to know what science project was going on in my kitchen?!  Hundreds of trial and error shots and many hours later this is what I ended up with. Need help

I've been working on some still life compositions at home. Will you please offer suggestions. I'm not very good at composing objects.

What do you think of the above photo in black and white? Maybe a more vintage look? Also, composition...I wanted the focus on the front pearls and everything else blurred. Your thoughts? Should I have the cup in focus and the back pearls blurred.

Don't pay attention to the white around the pearls...I was just playing...mostly interested in your thoughts about the composition. Any ideas?
