I decided that I would wake up early and head to Sunderbruch Park. As I was driving, I became excited when I saw the fog. It always gives a different look to everything. Despite the early hour, there were several people already at the park. I found a plethora of photographic sites complements of the fog.

These are the only two that I have edited so far. When I returned home, I  saw beautiful colorful leaves spread under several trees. The following photo is the one that I edited:

Kris, love the barn picture !!!!! and the fog for me adds to it so much. I think that the barn pic would be a good entry. I don't know if you were considering that or not. I assume that the leaf picture would be a "creative" entry. I too have been drawn to some piles of leaves . . . the color is beautiful but there seems to be a lack of "focal point". Like you I feel strange being critical. . . but like me I think that you are not offended. . . LOL

I LOVE depth of field pics like the ledge. But like we have discussed alot will the judges "want" more "in focus" stuff. So far I feel like you have a better sense about the judging than I do...... but we will not learn unless we just turn stuff in. I was thinking of getting together a BUNCH of pics, and then meeting with Marty and having her critique them. I would be happy to drive if you would like to go also. And I have a lot of questions about exposure after my last trip. As I have been going through my pics I have been checking out the "file info". I seem to have better luck with shutter priority than aperture. And need a review of the waterfall thing.

I am going to ask her about it at the meeting on Thursday.
Often I feel just completely overwhelmed. By the time I look at everything, the pic is GONE !!!!! *sigh*

Thanks for the critique. I turned in the barn and bridge rail to DYSWIS and you're right about the leaves being turned into the creative category. You're also probably right about that photo not have a focal point. I guess I thought the colorful leaves blurred was the focal point. Oh well. I think it's a pretty photo...probably will be judged low but so was my last creative submission. Having Marty critique photos sounds like a good idea! No I'm nor offended by anyone's critique. But once again, if I like it...well so be it:)
